I was mainly pointing my finger to the Japanese luxury divisions in the U.S. What I don't like about them is that they are going as far as changing the original name--something which represents the soul and spirit of a car--to assist sales, and this method also seems somewhat of a rip of German luxury car companies (i.e. Lexus LS430, Mercedes S 430). How would the world be if every time you took a trip to another country, you had to change your name into a series of numbers and letters, perhaps M6.2us to describe that a person is in the male "class", 6'2" tall, and from the U.S. instead of simply John. Money corrupts.
The MR2 is the same name in Japan as it is here so I don't have a problem with your mister two. |

O.K. I know, I drive a Yugo, but if every car's name was just the first four letters of it's country of origin, we'd have Germs, Japas, Sweds, and Itals for imports.

That may be true, but seriously - fairmont? A friend of mine had one, until little kids next door to him treated the roof like a trampoline, then he parked it and abandoned it.

I like GTO, but you have to know what it means and say that way. "Gran Tourismo Oblingato" I'm probably wrong on the spellings but you get the idea. Also I like cars named for their competitive catagory. ie Porsche GT2. I hate ones name after something else, ie McLaren F1 .

Here for the pussy, man.

The McLaren is basically a road-gonig F1 car- designed by Gordon Murray and the McLAren Formula One team- so realistically it can carry that name
