Speed and Brakes
Well I havn't been driving but a year now. I've had a chevy blazer the hole time. It's pretty sporty for an SUV. I currently have a jetta in my shop. But I've hit 100mph in that blazer. But the biggest rush I've ever had was when I was cut off doin about 90. Thanks to ABS I never hit the old fart knock that cut me off. He was only doin about 40 which made it so hard to not kill myself. Well I know 100 isn't too fast but when my jetta is done I'll have to repost. Keep on Dubbin!!

Took the car up to 140 on the access road to Dulles Airport when I first got it.
This is what I looked like....... Haven't done that since. I found it to be kind of unsettling. Not to mention, there was a very real possibility of going to jail. I think I enjoy the fast curves of a twisty road alot more than just balls out, straight forward speed!!

I've only hit 90 in my 320i, but it only has a four-speed tranny for now.
Been alot faster than that in other cars, here's some numbers 4ya... '96 Camry v6 247 Kp / 153 Mph ,rental- no limiter for some reason. '77 Pontiac LeMans 240 Km / 149 Mph ,I thought we were going to die the front end was shaking so bad! But the fastest ever was 275 / 170 Mph on a mostly stock '89 GSX-R1100. Amazing ... passing cars as if they were parked and the front tire actually lifted off the pavement. I only had that bike for a few months and I'm glad cause I would have ended up a road smear. Those were all good days..... |

95 AWD Turbo Eclipse
I got to 137 before I chickened out. I was approaching a very hilly area of highway in rural Kansas. I was afraid I'd pop over a hill and cream an old farmer on a tractor.

I can't drive 55!!!
I've got a '91 325ix too and I've been at a solid 120 with it. Man gotta luv those german autos!!
I bought a cobra in Texas and drove it back up to new england where I live, and found that would do about 160 or so. But the real kicker is that I've gone from Albany, NY to Boston, MA and back again in 4 1/2 hours total, non-stop, from Albany to Boston and back. you do the math. That includes the tolls too! |
