96 Altima clicking/rubing noise in rr
I have had the drum off 3 times and turned once. The noise always comes back. I can't see or find anything wrong. Anyone have any ideas? Brake shoes are good no leaks anywhere and car stops fine but man it drives me nutz.

Re: 96 Altima clicking/rubing noise in rr
Well I put a new drum on and now it does not click or tick but the back end shakes. I don't know if I got a bad/out of round drum or what. I picked up yet another new drum today and a set of brakes even though it does not need them.

Maybe the first drum was not square. It probably had a slight wobble to it and was rubbing against the backing plate. I had a new rear rotor that was out of round at the outer edge and make noise. be careful not to over tighten the lug nuts or you can bend the drum. Spin the axle with the drum off and look for axle run out. |
