Hi,

If no one can help you check Hiroboy.com.

Re: anyone else hate windscreen wipers?

Well, maybe not a solution for you if you find etched pieces fiddly but anyway...
I've been making my own wipers from thick aluminium foil and plastic strips cut to appropriate width and length.
Glued together and painted in desired colours.

This is on a Guilietta GTA with Alclad Chrome on.

Good luck!

I do. And I think they are almost always inadequate regardless of kit manufacturer.

Here are some that I have and can recommend:

The ones in the upper left are some generic no-name wipers I found eBay and they are quite convincing for use on recent vehicles, and they include what appears to be a wiper-fluid tube, which I've never seen on any other set. Very easy to use.

The two Crazy modeler sets are called "General Use" wipers feature a wide selection of wiper arms and blades that can be combined to approximate most wipers you see. The first set (EP 0064) is for recent cars and the other (EP 0058) works for many cars from the 1950s to the 1980s approximately. The second set also features separate wiper bases, arms, and blades that allow for almost any wiper set-up you'd ever come across. Both sets are easy to use.

The Model Car Garage set (bottom left) is perfect for a specific sort of wiper that I think were on American cars of the 1960s and 1970s, at least that's what my brain tells me they are for. These appear to be small so they might not work cars outside the range mentioned. They are also really hard to bend, both in the sense that they are thick metal and that they are tiny, so be prepared for some frustration and at least one ruined wiper.

The Good Smile Racing set might be my favorite. Very easy to use, excellent detail, and a wide variety of set-ups. This is Set Type A, which is best suited to cars of the 1950s and 1960s. They have other sets but I don't own any.

The KA Models set is just one of many that they offer. Very nice blades but the wiper arms look odd to my eyes. I wouldn't put them on the top of any list of recommended wipers.

I had a set from Detail Master that was just awful and I'd suggest you avoid them at all cost!

Does any of that help?

I'm with you- hate the damn things.

Never found a solution that I've been very happy with- but I tend to be less unhappy with kit parts instead of PE.
