98 barvada

is there a way to over ride or trick the sensors on the smart track system so i can engage the awd when i want to? whats the voltage going to and from the sensor? i was thinking about putting a switch on the dash so i can over ride it.

The automatic system engages when wheelspin is detected and the system sometimes gets stuck on too. Locking it in can damage the transfer case in some situations, like dry roads.

Well as of right now it dosnt work. But I want to be able to engage itt when in a mud hole I know that if I drive around if awd it will get messed

Ok.
There's a device called an encoder motor that shifts the transfer case in and out of AWD. If this motor is damaged, the transfer case will be stuck in whatever position when it failed.

thanks for the info but i still would like to put some type of switch to engage the awd... i was told one of the sensors is bad

The sensor likely sends a millivolt signal to the AWD module like the antilock brake system....you'd have to generate a signal.
You might call the local boneyards for a used sensor.
