I GOOD IDEA RIGHT HERE: plz read

you could make a script that lets the person select which car they want for each level, for instance:

newbie (-) Geo Metro - (-) Datsun
2. {-) Honda Civic - {-}Acura Integra
3. {-) Honda S2000 - {-}BMW M Roadster
4. {-) Porsche 911 - (-)somethingorother
5. {-) Pagani Zonda C12s - (-) Koenigsegg CC
6. etc., etc.

KEY: (-) = radio boxes

and you can have more options too.. what'dya think?

I dont want to include specific models like that because everyone has different tastes..
some people like one car and others like another.

Yeah i agree with not doing the car choosing thing...i just think that gets too complicated and then we have people complaining about how one car isn't better than the other..or why we don't have a certain car in our list...etc. etc.

I actually think the member status titles are fine the way they are now. People would argue with most of those other ideas. For example, one person might say a Flat 6 is better than a W18 for example, where another person might think the opposite. Azzkikr's idea, though it is excellent, would take quite a lot of programming and time to implement, plus it would be more complicated for users. If I were you Igor, I'd leave the member status titles alone. It's setup great the way it is now.

I really like Azzkikr's idea too, but it would take a ton of time and programming to implement a system like that. I'd help with it, but I don't have a lot of spare time and I don't want to be the only one working on a project that big.

Arrow Adam - W18

A W18 is an engine, pretty crazy design, three banks of six cylinders each. Bugatti/VW has been playing with these engines and other exotic W-oriented engines. Volkswagen has fairly firm plans to release a new W8 Passat. I think it's cool, but also gimmicky, and I am unsure of the practicality and wisdom in using these kinds of engines.

Early in the 20th century, most engine block designs were played with, and ultimately discarded by automobile manufacturers in favor of the tried and true engine designs that have survived through the ages. These are genererally the inline 4, V6, and V8. There are many others that are used, like the inline 6, and flat engines used by Porsche and Subaru. Engines like the X8 for example, were experimented with, and discarded by Henry Ford, as he found that having two cylinder banks inverted it is difficult to keep the pistons firing properly (having the spark plugs at the bottom of the cylinders instead of the top) especially when driving though rain and mud.

While Volkswagen is trying to find problems with using the W8 (and to that end they are really not finding anything convincing to prevent them from using the engine), for me personally, I just don't know if I see it as a good move.

Yea but there is a lot going on in making new kinds of engines.

P.S. I love the flat 6 engines sound so good.

I like falt 6's and any Flat engine, my mom has a Subaru so it's cool. I think for the ranking system, that we should use a complex system that is easy to follow (Includes many different ranks). It should be somewhat like the military, when I say this I mean that one rank should be easily distingiushable from another. We aslo should not use any system using cars or engines! It is too diverse and yet similar. Some people think a BMW is better than a Benz, some people think otherwise. Engines are also that way, a TT Flat-6 can make better Hp than a V8, a 4 cyl can make more than some V-6's (S2000) and so on. I think that we should use stars like on CF, and have a voting system....

Each member with a certain amount of posts (500) should be put in a vote. If they are liked by a majority of people, they should recieve a Red Star or something, It would just give people more recognition and it would also let people be better advised and educated from members. So if somebody was specifically liked it would look good as them and give other people a chance to strive for a goal.

I would change the current system to this Igor, or at least make it something more defined. I think that a Fanatic and Enthusiast are the same thing.

Brabus, did you read the thread before posting that??
We won't use car names. Cause that is very subjective as to which car is actually better, etc.
