Re: Proton KR '06

Well mates, here is the update of this weekend.

I tried to put pictures of the book so you can imagine how it is.

Here is the difference between the old frame and the Japan test frame.

Unfortunately I couldn't paint the frame this weekend because I noticed that one of the shapes was too much thin

Here is the main shape of the front fender, some extra work to do yet.

Working on the swing arm ( a lot of work to do yet, I have to work with the hole of the chain )

Here is the difference between the Japan test and the old swing arm

The upper cowl

And here is the work of the rest of the cowl, this part is a very difficult but I have to do a lot of work yet, the image shows only the putty on it to work with it.

I hope you enjoy seeing the pictures, hope to put more the next weekend. I have to say that some shapes that aren't equal as the real bike have to be revised, I'm making only the base.

Roca.

Great work Roca!
Seems quite difficult the make the right shape.
Do you know the company CGM? They produce transkit for Yamaha '07.

Thank you geronimo,
Yes I know the CGM I think it is from Modulo who made the KR211V also, but I can see some things that may be wrong on their model, If it is late version, they are using the old frame, and for the picture that I can see, the old swing arm, on the other hand they get a great shape, just like the real bike.
An important point which I will concentrate and try is the detail, those transkits bikes (those which were made from 0 or 10%) don't have details, its just a bike with a nice shape, and I hope to change this vision of that models. This point will be hard to do because there aren't a lot of photos of the bike, but I done a lot of research and I think It will be nice.

At this point there is a lot of work to do, I don't have a date of end, so I will keep my hands on this bike every weekend.

Have you ever seen a CGM product live.
I found here some interesting things. Most of them sold out but several yamaha transkits are still available

but i'm not sure about the quality of their decals and casting.

BTW you should log in sometimes to MSN to discuss some thing offline

Now this was what I meant!! I know see what work you are investing. May I ask what tools you use to work on the putty/resin?

Judging by the pics on the site and on Moto Modelling, these kits look pretty good. At least the Assen version is complete, which is more than can be said for the Renaissance kit!

I'm keen to buy a few of these, but theres no english on the site though!!

Awesome work Roca - you have some talent there.

Yes, I bought the Suzuki GSX-R from 2005, and as I said the shape is perfect, but for example the exhaust pipe is solid it doesn't have a hole... but for Yamahas they will look better I'm sure, because the M1 it's a little similar like the tamiya's one, it isn't the same make a GSX-R and an M1

I'm happy to know that this was you meant finally I get the solution , the tools I use to work with the putty and the resin, well the most important, the hands (to put putty on the piece I use my fingers, with they, the putty is added to the surface smoothly, the second and very important a lots of sandpaper, a few file to smooth some areas, and the miniplex machine to eat the areas where are a lot of material.

Thank's again for the support, I hope to put more pictures this weekend.

I have been in touch with them and have ordered two #46 M1 kits...I'll let you both know what they are like when they arrive, which should be in about two weeks. The 05 GSX-R looks great.

Looking forward to the update Roca...

Re: Proton KR '06

Hey guys,

I come the be with the KR, unfortunately I don't have photos, I have some difficulties on the frame:

the image on the left shows the shape of the real bike and the area that you can see of the frame with yellow putty is too much long, too much rounded and also the distance of the angle have to be more long, all I can say is that in the left side of the frame this problem has been solved (at least it get a better look) Tomorrow I will go on the other side and update the thread with photos, and also I hope to have the frame for this weekend, but if I see something wrong I will stop and look for the part to make.

It is a difficult point, but once I finish the frame, I will start to write in a notebook all I have to do and the next steps.

Bye
Roca

I really look forward to hear about CGM kits anyway i think they are too expensive and i will create it myself the only issue is the decal. Hope some company will release them (Fiat is already released by MC)

Re: Proton KR '06

Hey mates, here is the update, a bit late but...

Well, as you can see I give it a shape, and a thin coat of putty, now it is been going to the correct way, and the other side is on the way.

Here you can see the red line where I have to polish.

That is the other side, you can see that the shape is too much rounded as I said in the post above

Here maybe is too many putty but I prefer to give it a shape later.

Also I noticed that the tank was to short so I extended it a little.

Hope you like it guys and hope to put more tomorrow.
Bye
Roca.
