Re: Kr 211v '06
Sorry guys I forgot the description of what I did.
Well, I had to shorten the distance of the front part of the chassis, because it was 5mm longer and then the front fork was too much displaced to the front (so the bike was too long) I know that Tamiya's bikes are about 170mm long so I take it as a reference. Talking about the angle of the front fork, it is correct because it keeps the angle of the RC211V and the only thing I did is to shorten the piece like this scheme: Hope you understand it. Bye!! Roca. |

Re: Kr 211v '06
Thank's Nacho91!
Well I don't have tips I think that the whole thread is a tip because I don't have experience of how to make a build like this (except for the practise with the RsCube) and there are pictures of the step by step. Anyway if anyone have some question about how I made some work or piece just ask and I will try to respond Roca. |

I was planning on trying to scrath build a seat unit first.
Any tips about using the polystyrene and putty? Once again your work is truly stunning |

Re: Kr 211v '06
Hi Nacho, what do you mean with seat unit? I guess that this is the upper cowl-tank (the one I alredy made)
Well if it is the case I will try to explain it step by step: 1- If you want to make a real bike first you need a picture or a draw from the real bike on the left or right view one like this: 2- You will need a box of foam and then put and draw the desing over it. I bought mine here http://www.dickblick.com/ 3- You have to cut the draw completely parallel to the box so it will have the same shape in both sides, in this step is very important to use an electric saw because it is really hard to cut with the knife and have both sides equal. 4- If you see the result from the top view, you will see a box but if you look on the side view you will see the shape you cut, so here is the most important step, it is really hard to find a picture of a bike in the top view so you can now start to polish the foam in order to give shape on the top view (I don't know if I have explained it well) 5- Once you made the piece you can copy it in resin to have a more harder piece and more easy to polish and to add putty but you can try to add putty to the foam (is important to test first if the foam doesn't melt because of the solvent which contains the putty) Hope you understand it, if you have any doubts, please feel free to post a reply. Roca. |
