03 Excursion AC problem

Hi-
I have a 2003 Excursion Limited with the 6.0 and 5 speed. I have the automatic temerature control in the dash and it seems to work fine with one exception--I can not get the AC to come out the dash vents or the floor vents. When I press on any of the vent choices, the AC comes through the windshield vents (normally for defrosting). The rear AC works fine--the air comes through the vents in the ceiling. The AC is fine as far as being cold, I just can not get it to come through the dash vents...

Does anyone else have this problem? Can anyone give me some guidance so I don't have to pay Ford at least $80.00 for this problem?

Thanks in advace for any help given.

Re: 03 Excursion AC problem

Either you have a vacuum prblem going to the actuator, or the actuator that controls the blend is bad. Sometimes you can look under the dash and see it try to work when flipping the switch.

Re: 03 Excursion AC problem

Thanks Johnny!

I just did a little more research and found that there coiuld be a vacuum pump and/or line problem. According to the tech bulletin I read, the pump/lines are behind the glove box. Hopefully this won't be too expensive.

Thanks again for your reply.
