2010 ford fusion

My friends 2010 ford fusion has issues with it going into limp mode. The wrench light comes on and then it will not accelerate. Problem is if you shut the car off, it resets. When you take it to the dealer no codes show because it reset. 'Ford has a better idea'

It has to do with the throttle body. I think Ford has an issue on its hands it is trying to cover up. Anyone hear of this issue?

There is a service bulletin out there, you can find it by search. I think it deals with throttle body issues on 2.5 and 3.5 liter engines, no 3.0

Re: 2010 ford fusion

My 2011 SEL Flex Fuel (3.0) seems to be doing that but it isn't supposed to have fail safe cooling so I don't know what to think. It goes to idle, does not respond to throttle movement, runs rough, as though it is only running on half the cylinders, and only will reset if shutdown and restarted.

Re: 2010 ford fusion

Hey guys, just had the same issues about 2 weeks ago, turned out it needed a new throttle body. Seems there are issues with them as my dealer keeps them on the shelf.
