Just got a stock pearl white 99 Solara SE (with leather, sunroof, rims)with 94k miles for $8,000 and everything looks new except the front bumper has some spots where it looks like bugs died and took some of the paint with them, and also the front grille's gold trim is turning silver and the silver trim is chipping. I'm coming from having a 95 Corolla that I spent 3 years modifying (it's in the top 10 corollas at CarDomain.com, look for "Mitch's Corolla"). I have some money to put into this car, and I want the car to stay classy, but also gain some speed and glamour. The stock rims are the optional 5-spoke alloys, but I'm thinking about replacing them with some 18" chromes, does Toyota/TRD make any chrome 18's? Are there any polyurethane body kits that look sporty, but almost stock and are more than 4 inches off the ground? What is the best online performance shop for Solaras? How much would it cost (estimate) for a new 3-stage pearl paintjob? From what I understand, TRD does not make a supercharger for the 5SFE 4-cylinder motor, and I don't want something that's universal or will cost $2,000 to install for modifications. How can I safely squeeze some horsepower out of his motor (money not an issue)? It's disappointingly slow on acceleration. Is there any way to make the handling feel more sporty? Please e-mail me at
