Need Alarm Help On 2003 Silverado

Well my factory alarm worked perfect until about a month ago.. The keypad will still unlock/lock doors, and the panic button still sets the alarm off, but the alarm dont seem want to activate when i push the lock button on the keyfob. The truck used to make a beeping noise whenever the alarm was activated and it wont beep no more when the lock buttons pushed, and the alarm will not go off if the truck is tampered with, and I have no idea how to fix this problem. Any ideas?

Battery weak?
Have you got another hey pad lock and unlock.
You might try another reset or reprogram on it.

If all else fails read the owners maunual on it and or.
Get it on a good body capable scanner and check for codes and problems.

Nope, the first two didn't work. And I have no idea how to reset it.

You may have to get it on a theft lock/body capable scanner.
Dealer may be able to help.
Good luck

Re: Need Alarm Help On 2003 Silverado

I figured it out. I took off the bottom part of my dash and looked for the black alarm box, and found all the aftermarket stuff (i didnt know it was aftermarket because i bought the truck this way) and i saw the brand on the box and looked it up on their site.. they gave me instuctions on what to try. and come to find out.. the alarm was left on "valet mode".. which basically deactivates the alarm, so i followed the given instructions and i was back to pissin people off late nights with my sensitive ass alarm..
