Re: 1/12 Tamiya Porsche 935 with SMS detail set

Hi! Absolutely awesome modelling!!
I also have this kit, but now i'm wondering whether or not to even bother building it :P
On the rear bumper on your kit is the moulding out of whack? I think it is on mine. Maybe if it is you can show how you sorted it out? Thanks

Thumbs up Re: 1/12 Tamiya Porsche 935 with SMS detail set

This is something VERY special.

What makes me laugh is that back on page 3 (I think) Robrex thanked everyone for watching this thread!!!! Well, with a build like this and the excrutiating level of detail, we should be thanking him. In fact, thanks Rob for showing us your build. I was particularly blown away by the water bottle half filled and the use of watch hands in the speedo and tacho. The weathering too is just amazing.

I cannot wait for the finished product - it is a shame that so many details will be obscured by the body when it is finished.....

Hi Rob this is my first post i have only just joined,
this model is going to be out of this world, how long has it taken so far.
im building the same model and trying to detail it a bit more than standard but the weathering on yours is fantastic,
i here the lastest relise of the model comes with photo etched parts does anyone knoe if they are availbale separatly, as i dont want to spend the money that scale motor sport charge on theres

keep up the work will be watching

Hi Robrex .. IŽam building this car and wish to know ..

How do you paint DUNLOP logo on the tire? I canŽt find a 1/12 DUNLOP tire paint template set .
What paint you use on cylinder block?

Thank you.

Rob, you are the ultimate builder. I kept looking at the pic of the real car and your front end for like 5 minutes - they are identical! Down to the last fitting and even the position of the nuts!

Rob said "don't mind the reference gag, not that anyone was foooled" - front end black and white picture is actually from the model, Rob made a joke.

Super work Rob. I totally fell for the reference gag, hook line and sinker!

i did not know that car modeling can be so extreme, this is insane, you are building a car, not a model

I always follow Rob's threads although I only build GP bikes. He truly is an inspiration to all of us, not only for his extraordinary skills, but because he always has the time to answer every question we may have about his work. He is ages ahead of many of us, but he does not mind sharing his secrets. And, that, in my opinion, makes him an even greater modeler and person.

Thank you Rob.
