Panoz GTWC Steering Rack
Just thought I would update anyone who needs to replace their steering rack. I had seen some previous threads on this site where people chimed in about different year and part numbers for the correct steering rack which did not work when I ordered them (shafts out of the rack were too long and wrong diameter for our tie rod ends). I called Brandon at PAD and he said the correct part number was and A1 Cardone 22-207 which happens to be a part number for a 1989 Mustang. I am getting the part today and will update after I get it in.

Re: Panoz GTWC Steering Rack
Further update on the steering rack. My car is a 1998 GTWC, chassis #13. Brandon from PAD said the part number was an A1 Cardone part #22-207 and after buying it locally it was the correct part. It is a 1989 Mustang part number. Only modification I had to make was to shorten each shaft by 1.25" on each side so as to screw the tie rod ends far enough to match the original length. However, the main bushings on my Panoz are some sort of Delrin and I cracked them getting them off. I have a call to Brandon to see what they originally used but I am guessing it is some aftermarket part from White Side or something similar.
