Well, a little over a year later so I better update:

82,000

Wiper relay; shocks; both cats and "Y" pipe; another O2 sensor; Duct work from MAF to throttle (I am so strong I broke it putting it back on).

This summer I plan on replacing the radiator hoses and flushing the system and i am going to do the rear diff again.

I will do the rear brakes soon as well.

I decided to register on this forum to find out solutions to my 2000 rodeo LS. It seems to me that I'm having the problem that many of you have in terms of my truck (bought 2 months ago) is stalling when I'm on the interstate for about an hour or so. It cranks up again if I allow it to sit. Has the fuel sending unit actually solved all of your problems?

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?

1999 LS
(1998 engine)
2wd
approx 91000 miles

I am not sure of the mileage cuz she is in the shop as we speak
Major engine trouble:
Had to replace first engine after driving 3000 miles (it used almost all oil in the first 1500 miles, long story)
with this engine
current trouble is timing belt has slipped 4 teeth (I'm told)
mechanic is waiting for part (he is not going to replace water pump, as he thinks the tensioner was left loose when water pump was replaced).
He says there may be damage to the valves, which he will know after replacing timing belt tomorrow

does all of this sound reasonable to you?

engine is producing white smoke, husband thinks I should sell this truck and cut my loses (i have about 8grand in it with the engine replacement)...I can probably only sell it for 5k and don't really know what to buy next that would be similar and under 10k...what are your thoughts!!??
I have really enjoyed driving this truck, but it needs tires, and the brakes are about half worn...just trying to decide which way to head from here.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!!

1998 Honda Passport EX
148,000 miles and counting

I'm the 2nd Owner since 129,000. O2 Sensor on driver side before Cat Converter. Flushed EGR Valve and that's it.

Done oil changes every 3 thousand miles, new pcv valve, new air filter. Seems to be fine so far

Blower (warranty work), cd player (warranty work), fuel sending unit ($150), manifold gasket ($400), intermittent wipers need new relay, had to clean out EGR (easy), tires and normal maint. Not bad, all things considered

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?

My 1995.5 Rodeo LS 2wd V6 has 226,782 miles and going strong. I've replaced the normal items: water pump, timing belt, hoses, head gaskets, shocks. Engine and trannie running strong. I plan on getting the ole girl back to new condition one of these days.

Red face Where are EGR and Idle Air Control Valves Located?

I have a '97 Honda Passport which ran virtually repair except for two batteires, starter and changing the timing belts. But lately I had to replace the alternator (the original) and my truck is revving high when it first starts and then it stalls when I get to a complete stop...intermittently. To it to a dealer and ran a diagnostics ($100) and stated the egr and IAC valves needs to replace and slush out the system for carbon.

I am pretty mechanical and want to do the repairs myself, the dealer wants $1500 to do the repairs, where are these two parts located on the engine?

Thanks in advance!
