Rodeo Overheating after waterpump replacement

1995 Isuzu Rodeo. Replaced water pump, thermostat, timing belt & components. Now it over heats & no heat in cab.
I was told to "burp" the cooling system but can't find the bleed valve. Is there even one on the V6 engine???

Re: Rodeo Overheating after waterpump replacement

I don't know if there is a bleed valve on the Rodeo, but burping the system is easy on any car without a bleeder. I've only owned one vehicle with a bleeder and if you ask me, its almost useless anyway.

You need to take the rad cap off and start the vehicle. SAFELY reach in and grab the lower radiator hose and squeeze it a few times, then watch the coolant level. It may take a few minutes but as the air pockets work out the level will start to drop.

some of the thermostats have a little bleed hole with like a partially squished rivet in. they has to be at the top if the thermostat mounts vertically or you can drill a very small hole that does the same thing if you can't get the air out
