Rear Axle Ratio
Does anyone know the gear ratio for a 1997 Olds Bravada rear axle? I need to replace mine. Not sure what the ratio is and can't find it anywhere

Re: Rear Axle Ratio
The complete VIN# would be helpful in finding out the gear ratio. Worst case is you pull the diff cover, count the teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear, then divide the two numbers. That will give you the ratio.

Scroll down to page 4 (page 6 on the pdf) to find the gear ratio code on your trim tag, under the hood on the firewall I guess. Look up the code here, http://www.rpocodes.com/GM-RPO-codes...GthroughM.html |
