Wink Car modeling... confessions

Sometimes, when a kit part is molded in black, and I prime it and paint it semi-gloss black, I think, "Why am I wasting time and paint?"

Sometimes, I don't put any detail on the bottom of the car, and just paint everything flat black.

I really don't care if my model is 100% like the real thing.

Re: Car modeling... confessions

I have never thought of that. Maybe we just want to make it look more shiny and glossy.

Quilty of both

I know I have a lot of them, for starters, I have been known to use tape instead of glue for installing and attaching windows in place

Re: Car modeling... confessions

I frequently don't detail the chassis of various curbside builds.
I prime parts that don't need it sometimes.

I remove parts of the sprue and say that it's now started so that I don't get the urge to sell the kit instead.

I put my kits on the top shelf in the closet to keep my girlfriend from selling them ;-)

Seeing the work of cf decaling and scratch building experts sometimes make me want to quit modeling.
