I've thought about the same thing for a while now. I was thinking it'd be great to have that style car with an H22 or something in it instead of the gas saving electric stuff. It'd be a hell of a lot of modifications. You'd probably need new gas tank, new dash, cut up the engine bay, and tons of other stuff. If I ever won the lottery I'd do a swap.

H22 weigh to much, try a b series or even a built d series....but youd have to keep it light or it handle like shit....

haha, i was thinking about this long and hard, and i didint know if anyone out there had the same idea, cuz ive NEVER seen it done, i was actually coming here to start a thread about it....i totally agree. competely resembles crx, i thin if those rear wheel covers were taken off, some nice wheels were added, it was lowered, and swapped with the same gen civic i-vtec engine (a RSX Type -S engine , even better), this car would be sweet! sumone, PLEASE DO IT, also post any of those photoshopped pix! i wanna see a preview

i would just like to make a little comment to gunmen not to be rude or start an argument but the comment on "del slow" do you not find it kinda odd that you would call it slow but yet you have an engine that comes in del sol's?

that motor is also in the 92-95 si hatch and the ex...neither of which have the extra 200 lb of reinforcement for the removable roof... so its not the motor but the excess weight of the car that makes it slow.... however the si did have the b16 in it...but those are hard to find...

CRX/Insight

um, okay, i dont remember the site...ill try to find it...but honda built the insight as a replacement for the crx HF series and plans to reintroduce the crx in a few years. eventually a 1.0L VTEC will be offered with 99 HP in a new body style (rsx looking headlights on a 91 crx shape with insight's curves instead of ridges on old crx's) they will also offer a 1.6L DOHC VTEC (new gen. B16A perhaps) with 160 HP (think 99 civic Si moddability) in a car that weighs only 1900-2100 lbs! thats almost 700lbs lighter than my RSX Type S! as soon as i can get to my pc (im at a college pc now) i have a link saved with an article and a concept sketch. this article is not web speculation either, but pulled from a respected car mag. (cant rem which!)
anyway, ill post the link

Long live the CRX!

Rumors of a new crx have been floating around for years, and no the insight is not a hf crx replacement...honda built to prove they could build a marketable gas/electric vehicle.... but if you find the link I would like to read it sometime....

Re: Insight to CRX?

the s2000 does look like an advanced del sol, but the it's from the s series cars. s600, s800, etc.

1.0L Engine 135hp

I am looking to replace the 61ci 993cc 55hp engine in my firefly for a four cylinder anyone know any good engines that will fit and can be modified to lots of hp so I'll be the fastest 1990 2door hatchback Pontiac Firefly in town.
