Re: how to get the fog lights on with the parking lights

but definitely keep us posted if anyone succeeds. I say, first one to crack it gets honorable mention when and if this gets FAQ'd.

oh yea, and dont forget to keep taking pics for the write-up!

Re: how to get the fog lights on with the parking lights

man im still trying to figure it out.... well i got it to come on with the parking lights with the foglight switch but then it wouldn't work with the regular low beams... so im still trying to figure this out.... i think in order to make them work both time you would have to add another foglight switch because the wires used to the switch when turned on and off reverse polarities, what was once ground become positive and what was power becomes ground...... so i believe adding another switch would solve that problem and one switch will control when the parking lights are on, but the other switch will control when the regular beams are on.... but im pretty sure there is a less complcated way to do this....well what i did notice is that in order to make this work i don't think we can still use the factory switch due to it setup, which the same switch is the one not allowing to do this mod...because i cut all the wires and thought of every single method possible and it would only let me do one or the other but not both so im pretty sure we would just need an after market switch..... i think i might just cut the foglights under the hood and run my own wires...

Re: how to get the fog lights on with the parking lights

Really? Hmmm, I was thinking that there is a power wire from the fog switch (on and off) to the headlamp handls switch (on and off) then to the foglights themselves. SO you should be able to cut the wires going to and from the headlamp handle switch, connect those two wires and then the foglights should come on whenever you push the fog button in (as long as the car is on)

not so? I havent had time to look, have work till 5 and then class till 930 but tomorrow ill prob have a chance.

Re: how to get the fog lights on with the parking lights

i would "think" all you should have to do is find which wire in the switch connects to the low beams, cut it, and connect it instead to the parking lights.

Re: how to get the fog lights on with the parking lights

i just tried that and it only works for one way but not both...so now i am start to think that the wiring has nothing to do with the switch.... the wiring has to be done at the fuse box... because what provides the power for the foglights is the same wire powering the low beams because they only come on if the low beams are on.....so we just need to disconnect that wire and hook it up to the low beams main power source.....or something like that
