tranny malfunction, sensor location
I am trying to find the location of the input/output sensors for the transmission on the actual car itself.

Re: tranny malfunction, sensor location
on the driver's side of the transmission, you should see two sensors, one towards the front by the bellhousing w/ a 3 wire connector and one towards the back w/ a 3-wire connector. It's been my experience that when your transmission goes into "limp mode" and your speedometer stops working, 95% of the time it's the output speed sensor, the sensor that's towards the back of the transmission. Just a word of note, the input speed sensor is not interchangeable with the output speed sensor, the threads will match up, but the sensors themselves won't work if mixed up, so be careful. But for your problem, I'd just replace the output speed sensor for now and see what goes.
