Low washer fluid light

2001 Tahoe. I recently replaced the pump motors on my windshield washer reservoir. Both front and rear pumps work fine. Even though the reservoir is full, the low fluid dash reminder light comes on everytime the vehicle is started, just anoying. I removed the float sensor from the reservoir and the condinutity test shows open and closed circuits when moving the float up and down, so that appears fine. The wire connection to the sensor shows 11.6 volts, wondering if that may be the problem and have to look elsewhere.I guess I could just disconnect the sensor and not worry about it. Just looking for any suggestions.Thanks...

Re: Low washer fluid light

How much effort did it take to move the float? The pivot may be so tight (doesn"t take much) that it is binding.

Re: Low washer fluid light

I thought about the float binding.Easy enough to remove, just pry out rubber grommet and slide out. Just have to replace grommet first when reinstalling. Your right, there is not much room in there the way the reservoir is design(thank you GM engineers, another brilliance)Anyway that is where I'am heading is that it needs to be in an exact position, can't see it through the top when installed. Will let ya' know, appreciate the reply.Thanks.......
