Del 350 GTV al Murciélago

"1963. Feruccio Lamborghini funda Lamborghini Automobili en Sant'Agata Bolognese. Presenta el primer modelo de la marca en el Salón de Turín (octubre): el prototipo 350 GTV.

1964. En el Salón de Ginebra (marzo) aparece el 350 GT, basado el prototipo GTV. Tiene un V12 delantero longitudinal con culatas de doble árbol y 280 CV. La caja de cambios es manual con cinco velocidades, los frenos de disco en las cuatro ruedas y las suspensiones independientes en los dos ejes. La producción comienza poco después.

1966. En el Salón de Ginebra (marzo) aparece el Miura P400. Es un diseño de Marcello Gandini, con motor central transversal de doce cilindros en V.

1967. Bertone diseña y construye el prototipo Marzal, un intento de conciliar un deportivo con un coche más cómodo y espacioso.

1968. En el Salón de Ginebra (marzo) aparece el Islero 400 GT, con motor V12 de aluminio de 320 CV. Hay una versión llamada 400 GT 2+2 con más espacio en las plazas traseras.

Más adelante lanza el Espada, parcialmente basado en el prototipo Marzal; el Espada será uno de los Lamborghini con mayor éxito comercial.

1969. A finales de otoño lanza el Islero S y GTS, con modificaciones internas, suspensión corregida y un motor de 350 CV. Se distingue por unas aletas delanteras más anchas y provistas de tomas de aire.

Lanzamiento del Miura P400S, con 370 CV y un chasis monocasco más rígido.

1970. Lanzamiento del Jarama 400 GT, un sustituto del Islero derivado del Espada. Lleva, por tanto, motor delantero longitudinal V12 de cuatro litros de cilindrada. El bastidor es un monocasco de acero. Lanzamiento del Urraco P250. Tiene un motor V8 central de 2,5 litros de cilindrada y 220 CV.

1971. Lanzamiento del Miura P400 SV. Se distingue porque la suspensión cambia completamente, por los neumáticos y por los paragolpes. El V12 de 4 litros llega a 385 CV.

Marcello Gandini y Paolo Stanzani trabajan en el prototipo Countach LP500

1972. En el Salón de Ginebra (marzo) aparece el prototipo Countach LP500. Lanzamiento del Jarama 400 GTS, más potente. Será el último cupé de motor delantero de Lamborghini.

1974. En el Salón de Ginebra (marzo) aparece la versión definitiva del Countach LP500. A pesar de su nombre, conserva el V12 de 4 litros de cilindrada, en versión de 375 CV. El bastidor es tubular de acero, con algunos paneles de carrocería hechos de aluminio.

Los Urraco P200 y P300 reemplazan al P250.

1976. En el Salón de Ginebra (marzo) aparece el Silhouette, un targa biplaza de motor central V8, con 3 litros de cilindrada y 260 CV.

1977. Lamborghini diseña el Cheetah para Mobility Technology International Company. Es un todo terreno de motor central previsto para uso civil y militar.

1981. En el Salón de Ginebra aparece como prototipo el Jalpa 3500, sucesor del Silhouette. Tiene un motor V8 en posición central transversal de 3,5 litros de cilindrada y 225 CV.

Lanzamiento del LM001, un desarrollo sobre el Cheetah.

1982. Lanzamiento del Countach LP500S, con un motor V12 de cinco litros de cilindrada y 375 CV, que tiene un nivel de emisiones menor que el 4,8 litros.

Lanzamiento del LM002, que se distingue del LM001 porque tiene motor delantero en vez de central; es un V12 de 5,2 litros y 450 CV. El bastidor es de tubos y tiene tracción total.

1985. Lanzamiento del Countach LP500S Quattrovalvole, con motor de cuatro válvulas por cilindro, 5,2 litros de cilindrada y 455 CV.

1987. Chrysler compra Lamborghini.

1988. Lamborghini celebra su 25 aniversario con una edición especial del Countach.

Marcello Gandini abandona el proyecto del Diablo por discrepancias con Chrysler. Aprovecha parte del trabajo que había hecho para el diseño del Cizeta Moroder V16T.

1990. Lanzamiento del Diablo, basado parcialmente en el Countach S. Tiene también un bastidor de tubos reforzado con paneles de fibra de carbono. La carrocería tiene elementos de acero, aluminio y fibra. El motor es un V12 de 5,7 litros y 492 CV, colocado en posición central longitudinal.

1991. Lanzamiento del Diablo VT («Viscous Traction»), con tracción total conectable mediante diferencial viscoso.

1993. En el Salón de Ginebra (marzo) aparece el Diablo Roadster.

En el Salón de Francfort (septiembre) aparece la versión SE (Special Edition) del Diablo. Tiene modificaciones de carrocería, principalmente aerodinámicas, y un motor aumentado a 525 CV. La producción está limitada a 150 unidades, hechas entre 1994 y 1995. No reemplaza al Diablo normal.

La empresa Mega Tech, afincada en Bermudas y que también posee KIA, compra Lamborghini a finales de año.

1995. En el Salón de Bolonia aparece la versión definitiva del Diablo Roadster VT.

1996. En el Salón de Ginebra aparece el Diablo SV (Sport Veloce), con motor de 500 CV. Hay una versión deportiva SVR destinada al campeonato monomarca Lamborghini Trophy, con 540 CV.

1997. El Diablo, Diablo VT, Diablo Roadster y Diablo SV tienen el V12 de 5,7 litros en versión de 530 CV. Aparece la versión de competición GT2, con 640 CV.

1998. Audi compra Lamborghini.

1999. Ligeros cambios de carrocería.

2000. Se mantiene en producción el Diablo SV 5.7 de tracción trasera y aparece el Diablo 6.0, con motor de 550 CV y tracción total, para reemplazar al VT. Lanzamiento de la versión de competición GTR, para el campeonato «Lamborghini Supertrophy»

2001. Lanzamiento del Diablo 6.0 SE (Special Edition).

En el Salón de Francfort aparece el Murciélago"

Vittorio Di Capua resigns from the Executive Committee of Automobili Lamborghini

"Ingolstadt, June 16, 1999 - Vittorio Di Capua (67), who has been in charge at Lamborghini since November 1996, is leaving the Executive Committees of Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A. and Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. with immediate effect, at his own request. Rodolfo Rocchio will be Acting Chairman until Di Capua's successor takes office. Rocchio has been a member of Lamborghini's Executive Committee since November 1998.
Dr. Franz-Josef Paefgen, Chairman of AUDI AG and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A., thanked Di Capua for a successful period of office. Dr. Paefgen paid tribute to the great skill with which he had guided Lamborghini through a difficult period of its history. In recognition of his services, Di Capua will maintain his association with Automobili Lamborghini in the capacity of Honorary Chairman of the holding company's Board of Directors.
Last year, Lamborghini delivered 213 exclusive sports cars to customers worldwide; the company employs around 300 people. AUDI AG took over Automobili Lamborghini on July 23, 1998 and incorporated the company into the Audi Group as a fully-owned subsidiary."
