(2)Diamond Audio m6 vs. 15XXX
Hey guys... i recently baught a nine.1, which i havent used yet but have heard great things. I was going to get the 15XXX, and build a box...but i don't know if im capable. I can get 2 diamond audio m6's with dual vented box for $580. The m6's say 800wrms, that true? the nine.1, i've heard is underrated, so i'd say about 700 to each sub? Any of you familiar with diamond? let alone the m6? Plus its right down the street from me... lol I want it loud as hell, but good sound quality. I know the XXX is definantly capable of that, but i was thinking the 2 m6's would be about as loud, if not louder, just because it'd move more air because their's 2 subs. Let me know asap!

id go for the diamond audio, i am getting some when i get the cash, my friend has one 15 (dont know what model it is) but its not their highest or anything and it hits really hard and still has good sound quality, plus you dont have to wait for shipping or pay for it. so yeah, i say go with the diamond audios you will be happy with them, just make sure you get the right amp for those monsters.

yea, i've got the nine.1 amp. ~1500wrms @1ohm. Their's the m3's, m6's, and the TDX. I'm going with 2 of the m6's, which are 800wrms it says. But i figure they'll be in a vented box, so they wont need 800. I'll give em like 600.

I'd like to reiterate that I hit a 146.5 with a XXX15...

both setups will get loud as hell, but it depends on what type of box you put teh xxx in. i'd guess the 2 diamond audio subs would get a little louder. i couldn't tell ya which one would give you better sq. i think the m3's were a little more sq oriented than the m6's though, but i'm sure they have great sq anyway.....

True that haibane. But i'm not capable of building a box that will be accurate enough and all that. So i'd have the beautiful XXX15 sounding like striaght up ass becuase of my installation. The 2 m6's will be in a premade ( ) dual vented enclosure tuned to 35-38 hz. So yea, just wanted to see what you guys thought of diamond audio, i never see posts, or hear about them. I want llllllooouuuuuudddd. Any of you ever experience diamond audio subs? sq? spl? I think they sound damn good. Thanks guys

Re: (2)Diamond Audio m6 vs. 15XXX
i've been pointed to a couple other options than the xxx or brahma...
a new company... i think. the subs are very underrated i don't know about the prices on the diamonds. or if your worried about that... if not go with the xxx but stereointegrity.com or soundsplinter.com check those out... they guy at soundsplinter is awsome he'll answer any questions you have Last edited by Picquerist; 10-24-2004 at 02:32 PM. |

Re: (2)Diamond Audio m6 vs. 15XXX
gahhhh still working on the box building tutorial, i may just post it on my AOL webpage. Abell255, this tutorial should help you out greatly. enclosure building isnt hard. making it sound right isnt hard as long as you get knowledge of acoustics first. its makeing the box look decent and not haivng to fill in gaping holes with wood puddy because you cut a board too short that i had to over come. now i usually end up making the sides too large and having to plane 1 or 2 sides down with a hand plane after i finish the enclosure. basicly if yo ucan put togather a bird house you can build a decen enclosure. and if you understand the physics of a compression wave and basic acoustics you can make it sound good. i say go with the XXX. dimond audio is "ok" but XXX is UNDERrated, sounds great, and will get very loud. think of it this way. you have 1 dimond audio woofer on 700w. lets say you hit 133dB. you get 2 on 700w and you will make ~136dB. you put 1400w on thoes two woofers you get 139dB. you get one XXX 15 with an underrated 900w and you make 146dB. which do you want?

Re: (2)Diamond Audio m6 vs. 15XXX
yes. 2 dual 4's are great because, in paralell, they give a 1ohm load which is where the 9.1 performs best. in reality you can run as many subs as you want off of any amp. how efficent it is, is another story.

Re: (2)Diamond Audio m6 vs. 15XXX
It can... just not recommended. The idea though is you can run it as 2 ohms...
