I bought my 1st Gen B16a from www.tellapperformance.com, I'm still working on it to put it in my CRX. I paid 1,075 for the Motor, Trans and ECU plus shipping.

5_liter - he cannot use the motor you bought. first off it's illegal, second the transmission won't work.

www.redime.com/swaps

You want the B16A2 - OBDII hydro transmission.

Tell them Sean sent you please!

Also..more than just the motor, tranny, and ECU are needed for a swap.

You need axles, wiring harness, throttle cable...etc.

Well I was just saying the 1st gen for my car. I know you need the 2nd Gen for for 92+ with hydraulic trans. And how is it illegal? tThe only thing I can guess is Emissions which Cali has the highest emmisions laws so unless you live in Michigan like me where there is no Emissions law than its totally Legal.

Yeah..i see what you're saying.

But..you have emissions..they're just not checked. Like where i live

It's illegal to have a motor of lesser OBD than you (actually it's supposed to be the same year or later)

peace

5_liter_eater - hehehe of course your's will..considering I have no car.

purcivic - not that big of a deal..big deal but not that much of a problem.

Also..I bet a Civic w/ a B16A motor swap will whoop up on a EX with i/h/e. Considering, of course, that the drivers were equal.

D16Y8 + i/h/e + let's say you "modded it up" and built the bottom end and fuel tuning for ummm.....to handle a 100 shot of nitrous...that'll come to around...258 (+ or -).
^that's with i/h/e adding about 10hp and the bottom end work adding about....let's give him....20hp

JDM B16A (from www.redime.com) + i/h/e + 75 shot of nitrous will come to around....255 (+ or -)
^i/h/e again adding 10hp. Plus the JDM B16A having a larger output of 170hp.

peace

You didn't even have to crack open the motor on the B16A - therefore it's easier to buy the swap..plus I'm sure the B16A has a bit more torque than the D16Y8..so that 3hp diff. isn't that big of a deal.

Bullshit, no such thing as a SOHC B16, never existed.....

And technically, ANY and ALL mods you do to your car, that are NOT factory OEM replacements are ILLEGAL, if you wanna get technical about it.....
