Well the prices that i quoted are the Canadian (where i live) MSRP as on their respective websites

Final numbers to consider in acceleration (all in MPH)

GTI 0-60 6.33 (w/manual)
Si 0-60 6.53

Rolling

GTI 20-40, 40-60, 60-80 - 2.4, 3.2, 4.7 respectively
Si 20-40, 40-60, 60-80 - 2.9, 4.1, 5.8 respectively

you would be looking at a min of 40k, but they have yet to be released here, so i'm going off the prevous gen

well, in the UK list price of the R32 is £4000 over the GTi which isn't a lot to stretch to.
Both R32s have a very wonderful V6 in it and while the performance doesn't seem to be that different to the GTi, it's a very different car in driving.
I also prefer the look of the old one anyway.

Yeah...the only reason to get the new MKV R32 would be for the AWD b/c the engine is not as nice IMHO as the 2.0T FSI. Also, I heard it's only coming in DSG which is good for DSG lovers, but I like my 6MT much better. Personally at the prices they are projecting...you gotta seriously consider other cars like the Evo and STi...which are much better AWD cars albeit they dont have quality interiors like the R32 will.

in the UK, only the basic wrx is cheaper than the R32; all others cost more.
also, our R32 can be had with a manual gearbox.
