Transmission Code

Hello,

(2003 A-8 Quattro) I have a check engine light on and it sometimes clears for a short period of time but is on most of the time. Once in a while the cars transmission acts funny, it's like it just wants to slip and barely move. I shut the car off and restart it and it will shift fine. The code I'm getting is

"Code P2716 $1A 1/1
Pressure control solenoid D electrical".

I would like to change the solenoid but I have no idea where it is located, with my luck it's buried somewhere inside the transmission. Can anyone tell me where it is located and what other problems could be causing this error code? I know it isn't necessarily the solenoid causing the problem, it could be a wire or something else that effects the solenoid. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
