Exclamation VR burnouts

I recently got a 1994 VR commodore thats only done 130,000K's in top condition but its an automatic. When i go around corners and floor it the back does not slide out much at all and i seem to have a flat spot because when i put my foot down it doesent accelerate as fast as i want it just revs and dosent go anywhere untill it kicks into gear and by that stage im already around the corner and down the street. any idea's? anyone else with a VR commdore having the same problem or any technique to drifing? cheers

Re: VR burnouts

That's typical of a VR auto. I had one, and the only way to get it sliding was to put it into second before you get to the corner, point the noise at the apex (before the corner) and floor it. It will understeer for a second, but then the back end will start to come around. You need to be going at least 40km/h for it to work.....

Good luck and don't get caught!

Re: VR burnouts

is it a 6 or 8. is ur diff an open wheeler or LSD. put a shift kit in it, put a minispool and when u go around a corner, floor it and watch it go sideways. when its wet, be carefull because trust me, it will slide.

BTW, wen u go around the corner, leave it in first, rev it hard till its near redline or on it, then shift to second, floor it and then put it in drive.

not every 13 yr old knows how to do burnouts so just ask around and try what i said.

if not, wack a 355 stroker and hang it. [PSI-EFI]

Re: VR burnouts

u could put a stall converter in it...watch her rev and wait for the power to hit. or get on the brake and skid it round the corner....
