09 avenger AC BLOWING HOT AIR ON DRIVERS SIDE AND COLD ON PASSENGERS SIDE
HI guys for a while now my 2009 avengers AC been acting weird it's not a dual climate control it's the most standard you can find.I have checked the bleed door actuators and they are working properly no fuses are blown. They told me to take off the hoses to see if there no blockage. I haven't done it because I don't know what to look for, can someone please help me thank you guys anything helps.

Re: 09 avenger AC BLOWING HOT AIR ON DRIVERS SIDE AND COLD ON PASSENGERS SIDE
Have your freon evacuated and recharged. Make sure you you get a competent tech.
When I do evac & recharge, I write down the system specs. If its given in Lbs, I convert to Oz. then evac and see what the machine pulls out. Then compare that to a full charge. For example: Full charge: 28 oz Recovered: 17 oz System low: 11 oz Then I look for a leak, or charge it with dye. Either way, more than likely you've never had your ac system checked. Over time, you can lose some freon, even though its SUPPOSED to be a closed system. When you lose enough, then it starts acting exactly like you've described. Don't try and buy a freon guage from the parts store. Only a evac and recharge will get your system to the proper specs. Hope that helps. Auto tech for 16 years. |

Re: 09 avenger AC BLOWING HOT AIR ON DRIVERS SIDE AND COLD ON PASSENGERS SIDE
In that case, it most likely a blend door actuator. There is going to be 2 blend doors for your heater core / evaporator core.
Without a costly scan tool, its going to be impossible to to diag. And a code reader won't work. You need to be able to see the position of the blend door and the number of "steps" the actuator turns to when going full hot or full cold. It's time to have a professional tech look at it. |

Re: 09 avenger AC BLOWING HOT AIR ON DRIVERS SIDE AND COLD ON PASSENGERS SIDE
Shit...I just read your OP.
You DO NOT HAVE DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL. In that case....do you have a cabin air filter? Look behind the glove box and see if you got one. Is your coolant level good? Run the car until its at operating temperature. Then feel the heater hoses going in and out. They should both be hot. Keep your blower motor off when testing this. Then feel your coolant hoses. Is one hotter than the other by a significant difference? You may have a plugged up radiator. To a sticking t-stat. Kinda hard to diag without having the car in front of me. |
