fuel pump relay location?
I have a 91 scoupe was running great, then started having starting issues. I replaced the starter, but the problem started all over again. When you turn the ignition switch to the on position, you can hear the fuel pump hum, but the engine wont even crank. I saw on another hyundai site where they said it was the fuel pump relay, ant that it could be found in the engine compartment fuse box. All I found in that box was fuses for the radiator fan, fuel injectors, horn and hi lo headlamp indicator. all of witch are fine. Am I missing something? Is the info I was given incorrect? Is there another fusebox I'm not seeing? The fuse boxes I did find were the ones behind the drivers side headlight, and the one on the positive battery terminal.

Re: fuel pump relay location?
There is an mfi control relay instead of fuel pump relay, under left side of dash. I looked at scoupe, there is more than one, don't know if wiring is the same on all of them?
Shouldn't have anything to do with mechanical starter motor. If your saying the starter motor itself won't even crank, check the starter circuit. Make sure the battery has good charge, and the connections are clean and tight. |
