What Did I Just Buy? This Car is Weird- Please Help
Hi guys, sorry to bother you and I hope you can help. I race motocross and know Very Litte about Race cars.
I found this forum and hoped this might be the place for expert assistance. I just bought an "offset" looking car, what looks to be some sort of rear engine, GSXR 750cc powered outlaw car. It has a straight rear axle and Asphalt Hoosier tires, no suspension at all. Open wheels. I bought this car Last Week and have NO IDEA what it is. The guy I bought it from said that it was just a "Racing Go Cart" & he never could get it running. I found out that the GSXR750 engine had jumped timing and the pistons hit the valves. I pulled that engine out and put in an older, good running CBR1000cc engine, It'll be running by next week, to test it out at the drag strip. Now- What is this? What class was it for? (if any) Where do you race these? Any guess on top speed or Quarter mile speed? (after next week, we'll know) What's the Offset for, Turning Left or Right? (don't laugh, I'm a motocrosser) Why is there No Suspension? Almost done with the Engine Swap ANY HELP is APPRECIATED. |

Re: What Did I Just Buy? This Car is Weird- Please Help
Its definitly a circle track car, as they are the only ones that run offsets like that, though I haven't a clue what class it should be in. And with the hoosiers it looks to be an Asphalt circle track car.
Didint you ask the guy you bought it from what class it should run in? |
