P0440 - Evaporation System Fault Code

2003 GT with 85,000 miles on Engine. I just had the fuel pump and fuel filter replaced 4/7/2008 by the dealer. The day after i got the car back, while driving my check engine light came on. I got the code (P0440). My question is, could the new fuel pump and filter have anything to do with setting this code off. I've called the dealer back, but have not heard an answer back yet.

Re: P0440 - Evaporation System Fault Code

Welcome to AF !

Sorry for the delay on the responce, did you get this figured out ?

p0440 is a small leak in the EVAP system... Usualy the first thing to check is the gas cap. If its not sealing properly this could throw that dtc.

Though since you just had the fuel pump and filter replaced they could have knocked something loose down bythe tank.
Thie'rs several hoses with clamps that can come loose over time due to hose shrinkage(drying out).

Let us know what it was if you got it resolved.
