Classic Cars with Good MPG around 3K?
Hi!
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section... first post! I'm looking for a cheap Classic car for school and such, only driving around for 1 hour each day. I would only want to drive it in the spring, summer, and fall as you all know salt and classic cars don't mix during the winter. Looking to get around 20MPG in it. Preferably hard top. Something common and reliable. And something not small like an MGB where a truck might not see you, etc etc. And again, looking to spend around 3K. 2k for a fixer upper, 1k for parts? 4K for something nice? I really would love the look of a 57 bel air, something with those 50s style fins. Or something like a nova... etc. Already looked at VW Beetles (too small) MGBs (Too short) Spitfires (Too short) Datsun (From what I've seen, too small. Opinions? Haven't seen one in person but I love the ZX with that electronic dash) Thank you for your help!!! |

Truthfully, when you find this car let me know!! Get on Craigslist list or
Ebay for ideas..

I think the MGB would make for a perfect starter car. It’s cheap, fairy simple to maintain, and it could be kinda fun to drive.
