Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

Yesturday got it, HPI 1/43, Le Mans 1997 #24R.
I think these HPI's are the best quality models, what I have on the self. The detailing is stunning.
Rest of the pics here!

Sami, nice to see that #42!

I also took some shots for comparison of the 1/43 Minichamps and HPI, LM'97 LARK #44:

Color is better on the Minichamps, but in every other aspects the HPI is way ahead. Well, there's about 12 years difference between them, so would be quite disappointing if HPI would have been only little better than the old.

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

Doc, superb images! Thank You!
Really see the huge difference about HPI and Minichamps. The detailing is big way a head in HPI, every angle you watch it; the detailing is stunning.

Here is some more pics about #42. I've took these by hand, not stand.
ISO3200, shutter time around 100 and f 5 so the sharpness isn't so good I've hoped.

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted. Same may remember me as I've collected some McLarens over the years.

I often buy multiple colors of my favorite models, since I'm never gonna sell these I often give them some special treatment I think helps differ them from eachother and give them a more special place in my collection.

I love the new look and I'm much more satisfied with each model haveing some extra individuality added to them.

I use my N97 camera with a shitty flash so bare with me.

I gave the platinum one "pure metallic gold" and the black one "ghost metallic black" (very diffucult to catch on pics, almost a transparent clear metallic with black effect, awesome!).

Here are my Autoart's

Bottom shelf reserved for their white brother coming in next week.

Also, my new McLaren 1:12 setup.

Yes, 1/12's are stunning. And lots of hard work to find these all. And not so cheap I think. Great to see your passion of that specific scale!

Thanks bud! I've been watching as a lurker all the time, so many great guys here. How do you like those custom wheels on the Autoarts?
I personally love 'em!

Been busy with my new house these last years, but now I'm back in McLaren crazy heaven.

I'm not much of a gold person, but really do like the "ghost metallic black".

Thorst how did you get the wheels so nicely black on the black one?

First satin black, then metallic black and finally clear coated.

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a black one and add the red stripes on the ventlines. Then I'll have my own little chassis #015.

If the white one had an interior that matched #053 then I'd go that route instead.
