Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

Another excellent great news !!!
I received my transkit while I was in german rally, very promissing start with a competitive price (< dominomodels) even if everything isn't perfect.
I'll probably post a review soon.

I have made lot of details pics from the cars at service park so MM24 guys if that can help please ask for them I'll share them with pleasure.

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

I think their first interest in the next future is to release recent cars till they'll be able to release several ranges of cars at the same time if that can be their aim.
A lot of group B cars have + or - been (weel) done now, but these news WRC/S2000 cars are expected by lot of modelers as I had the confirmation by discussing modeling with some builders/collectors met on the rally last weekend or on modelingmeeting these last months.

I took the pics of the 206 S1600 transkit, I'll prepare the review and post it soon.

Previously touched on this subject and I keep saying that the future of 1:24 rallye models are in the new WRC's and not in the old Group B cars. Let's face it.

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

surely they will make also new models of wrcs, but the fashinating of the old deadly group B cars is too far away, exacty as for planes when u see F-18E vs. spitfires and me109 in battle of Britain.
Just I wonder why hasegawa started with delta,stratos,037 and they didnt end the serie with s4.Boh.

Too nicer times, too skilled pilots completely nut and incredibly nicer races, exactly as with formula 1 and sportscars of the 60s.

No way, they will always remain the golden ages of rally cars.

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

What you say is right about Gr. B emotions but don't forget there is now one or even more than one generation between Gr. B fans and nowadays rally fans.
Also most of today fans visible on rallies discovered rally with McRae for the olders or Solberg or Loeb more recently and are by this fact more interested in today running cars...
I saw in service Park some scale models stores, Solberg's car was sold out after one day, the delta's or Ascona's didn't get any success...!
There is a market for Gr. B, Profil24 understand it, but he's also doing now the ds3 surely because he can touch more people...
What I only hope is that a brand will be able to release two ranges and we will finally get a decent 205 T16 Evo2 or some other ones...

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

Absolutely correct Phil,it is probably just me liking so much oldtimings in modelling.
It is also true that u can sell easy the brand new cars when they are REALLY the latest ones, and with rally cars is a matter of weeks, probably worst than street motorbikes, where new models arrive after a season.
Try look at the value of all the subaru or Focus made in the years ago by tamiya and how long they keep unsold.

..oops...suspect we are a little bit off topic..
