Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
I've done a bit of searching and found it's actually the 13th MOTY, which makes it just enough for a calender. I'll make a demo to give people some ideas about what the calender will look like, as a poll to see how many of you want one.
Here're two problems to be solved, one of which is to have the calender properly printed we need a picture of your work at min. 1660*1103 pixels (200dpi). Here's a table I made to show what we've got, please correct me if I made any mistakes. Secondy, do you want just the winner to be displayed or all top three? If we have just the winner's work that will give us neater layout and more comfortable visual effect, but less people were involved. If we make all three then we'll have to find more pics. Winners would you please send me the pics of your work and if any of them were not hanging around recently I'm gonna ask your favour to help me with that. Much appreciated! |

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
Thanks for the effort you are putting into this auw12. I would like to see all three top winners, but I understand your comment about the layout not being as clean.
How soon do you need the pics? Also, some of the winners I haven`t seen on the forum for quite a while. Will they be contacted via pm or email? |

My 250 Lusso didn't win it in 2005, RallyRider's entry did.

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
We could always do that thing where the empty days of the month (you know, when the 1st is on Wed, and you have Sun-Tues blank) you can put the 2nd and 3rd place models there. Cleaner, though the pics would be a lot smaller.
+1 for a calendar, for sure!

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
I absolutely appreciate this project!
I could provide some high resolution pics of my Ringkämpfer, no problem. And, of course, count me in for one example! Would be a very special and unique thing and would connect the community all around the world every day by just looking at the calender every day. A (printed) calender is one of the last useable analog things nowadays.........oldschool so to say....;-) GREAT, please keep it up, my greatest respect to all of you for all your efforts and labor. Yours Jochen PS: ......it's a bit annoying that there are no more comments......strange. Hundreds / thousands of "members" and no one else has to say at least something like THANKS or GREAT or I'M INTERESTED or whatever.....too bad. |

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
I'm also surprised with how few replies the thread is getting. I hope there would still be enough people interested. If not, maybe we could do something smaller, like a poster or a commemorative booklet? Also, in case of booklet the number of pages wouldn't be limited to 12, so it would be easier to include more models.

I would definitely want one of the calendars.
I could help with the distribution inside Europe, just let me know!

With deadlines rapidly approaching, I will post a poll. If we do not get a quorum by, say December 10th, we will abandon/change the project. I will still go ahead with the actual AFMOTY though.

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
I like it! Honestly I haven't been able to get excited about a calendar. But a poster or similar, that didnt have a date on it would have a lot more appeal for me.

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
What about a poster/calendar ? I mean a square in the middle with the calendar part and all models around ?
that could be nice, advantages of each kind |

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
what if instead of a calendar we think at a small photo book with the pictures of all the mondel entering the contest during the years since its start? think, at the end, modellers want to see models....

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
I like the idea and I'll sign up for a copy as long as the pictures are full pages at least A4 size.

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
I don't think it would be possible to obtain full-resolution pictures from all the participants over the years. Besides, for full-page A4 printing the resolution would have to be really high -- something we can't expect from all pictures, even these days. Making a booklet with only 3 winners from each year would be more feasible, especially since the winners usually have good photographs.

Maybe we can have the winners on full page and the other participants in smaller formats adapted to the available picture resolutions. |

Re: AFMOTY 2014 - Any interest?
We could make a PDF (or other publishing format) preview to see how it looks then have it printed in the highest resolution available. I'm in for a copy.
