Chassic 12R at Spa six hours 2010

In the weekend 24 - 26 september 2010 the Spa six hours took place, the Lanzante team was one of the participants.
And yes, they took a F1 with them
This year chassis 12R.

I spook to the owner when he arrived after a short trip on the public roads around the circuit.
He ownes it for 12 years, and bought it in racetrim from the team.
Then he converted it for road use and did some changes, like removing the roll cage, fitted steel brakes instead of carbon, fitted a hand brake and gave the interior a clear coat painting on the naked carbon.
The original racing seat which was used by Bellm, Weaver and Lehto is still inside but he covered it to make it a bit more comfortable.
Also he replaced the black strips inside on the doors for orange ones; better visibility.
The car stays in the UK, despite he lives in the US, and drives it a few times a year on public roads and some events.
Some pics, enjoy.

Lovely pictures and great info about the owner, cheers.

Just wish he'd put the full livery back on, it'd look so much better.

Absolutelu superb stuff! One of those days when you know you were right time right place!
And the comment of the #12R's current seat was

ER
I read that and knew it wasn't 049, but wasn't sure the correct one so was gonna wait to see if I could find it.

If only it was 049...

Re: Chassic 12R at Spa six hours 2010

For those who liked the pics, some more

And some info I forgot to tell yesterday.
The owner also told that he bought the car with the wider and bigger Silverstone rear wing, but replaced it for the smaller and better looking LeMans version when he converted it for road use.
We also had a some words about the brakes. He choose the standaard steel racing brake discs. I thought that in season '95 they raced with both the carbon discs and steel discs, depending on weather conditions and track. While in the '96 season they raced with the carbon discs only. Is it true? Because I remember (slightly) I've seen some old pics with the steel discs.
Anyway, these days it has the steel discs.

Btwn, note the colour difference from the wheel nuts, left / right.

Re the wheel nuts Blue for Right Hand Thread, Red for Left Hand Thread makes identification easier in pits and less chance of fitting wrong one to the wrong side of the car.

the color difference in wheel nuts is also done in F1, Le Mans and on the Porsche Carrera GT

Thank you Arjan !

You're lucky because my friend Vincent Martin CM-Arte.com only saw it at the rear of the box
