power windows

Someone Please Help. Both drivers side and passanger side windows don't work won't go up or down . the rear vent windows do work . Use to have to play with the switch to get them to work now they don't work at all. I replaced the switch in the drivers door and still no luck. I also can not find the fuse to the windows.

Re: power windows

What year?I believe 1999 and up,you have to replace the regulators as an assembly since the tracks are plastic and break.

It is a 2000 kinda hard to believe that both regulators would go at the exact same time

Re: power windows

Only "fuses" in the system are two PTC circuit breakers on the junction block. Won't be one of those because if either pops you'll have problems with all windows. That plus they should reset themselves as they cool eliminates them. Only thing common to both windows is the switch panel which you've changed. One trick you can try is to hold the switch up or down and slam the door at the same time.

I would remove either door trim panel and the vapor barrier then disconnect the window motor connector and check for voltage with the switch thrown. If it's there change the regulator assembly.

The window tracks are metal. The guides that run up and down the tracks are plastic. The window is attached to the tracks by plastic guides.
