2006 Vue-Engine Light Issues

I bought a used 2006 Vue. A week after I got it the engine light came on. I took it in and was told it was a loose gas cap and that they fixed it. A week later light comes on again. Take it in and they replace the part where the gas cap screws into(no idea what the parts called) the tank area. Yesterday the engine light comes on again. Took it in today and they said a few error codes came up. These are the ones I remember.
p1500
p1200
When I called back later on to see if it was ready, the guy told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it and the codes weren't showing up anymore.
Just doesn't sound right.
I also asked them to check the AC as it didn't seem like it was working. It would barely cool the car.
My questions are can the AC cause the sensor to come on?
Why do the codes not show up after the testing? Is this normal or do I need to question them on it?

Thanks in advance!

Re: 2006 Vue-Engine Light Issues

I am having the same issue with mine. Mine is an 05. My dad said it could be the ejectors or you need a tune up. I have went and replaced a number of things in mine and still have the problem. It could also be a sensor. Going through saturn for a test will cost you some money but take it to a really good shop and tell them to run the test while the car is acting up and see where it gets you. Also take the codes to advanced and see what they say.

Re: 2006 Vue-Engine Light Issues

Hi there,
My 05 vue 4cyl 2wd was in and out of the shop for 3 weeks for the false check engine light problem. The dealer changed the gas cap assy but the CEL kept coming back. I finally bought the loaner 06 VUE V6 AWD and told them to keep the problem vue--- traded it in. A few months later I was sent a letter from Saturn stating that they were aware of the CEL problem and if I had paid any money to fix it , they would reimburse the cost. Check with your local Saturn dealer about this problem, there should be a recall or tech bulletin about it.

p1500 and p1200 are not legitimate codes. check again to see what codes were coming up.
