Exhaust Question

Hello everyone,

I am the proud owner of a beautiful 1971 Jensen Interceptor...for those of you that a familiar with this car know that it came stock with a chrysler 383 hooked to the 727. I am looking to upgrade the exhaust system. What are some of you running? As far as I know, it is the stock exhaust. What size pipe are you guys running? This is my first exhaust system upgrade on a V8 I have done so I want to know what to look for. The current pipe is tiny...1 1/2 possibly. I have heard a lot about back pressure and valves...do I need to worry about that? I want a little more of that V8 rumble and get the engine breathing better.

Thanks,

Erik

Re: Exhaust Question

A 2 inch system with some freer flowing mufflers is just about right for this combo, bigger is not better here.
