supra vs. well the class
ok so this has probably been gone over b4, as i know it has, just they have died, a long time ago. so i figure i'd start a new one.
whats the quicker car around a circut, in a light to light drag, and overall top speed. the contenders; dodge stealth twin turbo(320hp, 315tq, awd) toyota supra twin turbo(320hp, 315tq, rwd) nissan 300zx twin turbo(300hp, 305tq, rwd) mitsubishi 3000gt vr-4(same as the stealth)
now some technicals, the stealth tho esentailly the same car, does weigh less in that it has no active aero, therefor it is by many considered a quicker car than the 3k gt.
i have read in a book i have that the supra actually had 328hp, maybe in the j-spec, since i'm talking usa versions, i'm going with 320hp. it's big advantage is the sequential turbo's
i didnt put in the rx7 due to much less power 255hp and 232tq, it weighs much less, but still i dnt feel it would b fair. if ne1 objects than do so without contest.
3k gt, the active aero obviously helps on the circut end, i'm not sure if it really would help at all in a drag.
basically remember the types of races, and the types of drivetrains. all of them(exclude the 300zx"5spd") use a getrag 6spd, in this compitition. go with stock performance numbers, i've never driven nething but my stealth, so maybe for all of our future referance at the traffic light down the street, we'll know what we can do
i know when i got my stealth it ran 13.5 in the 1/4, but it only has 300hp(older version)

Re: supra vs. well the class
yea, i didnt feel like starting up that other one that's half way down the page, it died in early 06 or late 05. plus that was only about the 3kgt and the supra, this covers the other cars

The reason this discussion will never finish is because you can't say for sure which is the faster car around the track. The cars brings out the driver. So if you have a Supra who has good high end but horrible boost response due to its tweeky sequential will require a driver who prefers virtues over its faults. The same carries over for all the other cars. Bottom line is when comparing cars that are in the same class or exceeds eachother equally on various points of comparison, it is far easier to compare the drivers behind the wheel than it is the cars themselves.

Re: supra vs. well the class
true, ne1 wanna rent out a track for a day? haha.
yea, i've always wondered y the sequential is a problem for luanching, i thought it would b better.
i will say i think the supra's are a lil overpriced at this point in time, they're all like 25g for a decent one, with relativly low miles. there was even one for 14g with 220k on it. no1 in their right mind would buy it expecting it to last, but i wouldnt touch it for more than 5g. i dont care who makes it.
the stealth and 3k gt r good alternatives, good launch, good handling, and fast as hell. am i saying they r the fastest cars out there, no.
but then u have to look at thte 300zx, it's successor, the 350z, is actaully slower in 1/4, and in fact the 240z is almost as quick as the 350.
so r these cars going to stay where they r in value, or do u think they'll start going up in a few yrs. or is it going to b like american muscle cars, and just b a waiting game for 30yrs?

Re: supra vs. well the class
If you think supra are over priced, don't buy one. (it's that easy!)
