Re: Random Chatter
Oh man that sucks then. See if you had the s10 you wouldn''t be speeding because it would tank the gas mileage. I can't afford to drive fast. Anywho anyone have a timeline on how long till the fuel pump goes since I have been hearing it whir at an increasing rate while driving and this is above 3/4 tank? I did 12 hours today at work at 15 an hour but need to know how much I have to suffer to get it paid lol. I did not like the search results I saw with the cost.

Re: Random Chatter
If you need to replace it, only get an acdelco pump. Pump failure depends on use. If the tank is always run till empty, the pump usually goes sooner. Theres no real defenate mileage that they go.

Re: Random Chatter
Dang. I only let it go below quarter once in a blue moon. Usually rite at 1/2 its filled. Been searching around for the Delco. I think its going to hurt.
EDIT
Just finally got it quiet too after having the starter replaced.

Re: Random Chatter
Gotta say its dead on this site anymore. Anywho flushed the blazers coolant tonite, did it by myself in about 3 hours. I did some other stuff in there as well. Never flushed a system before so it was challenging but fun. Changed out the PCV, air filter, electrical taped some vacuum hoses that are iffy, (probably will get swapped out before winter). I had the battery and battery tray out and I checked out the actuator for the 4x4, thats fine goes in and out fine, hoses there seemed fine. Also had to unbolt the PCM off the top of the coolant tank because the fluid in there would not drain, so i took that out, dumped the fluid and washed out. After the initial coolant release, the flush and fill and water went through and that was NASTY. Then clean water after that and that wasnt too bad and then just pure antifreeze. Thanks for all the help on the board, searching is wonderful.
Only thing didn't get to was changing the oil. 3000 miles in a month is ROUGH. To my credit, I was all over God's Green Earth. Ocean City, the Sproul, New York. So I can't complain. Im just trying to hit some of the 80k mile maintenance stuff. Went 10k in about 7 months.

Re: Random Chatter
Yea the site has been dead for awhile, but we're still alive and kicking . If your coolant was that nasty, be ready to do an intake gasket replacement if it hasn't been done yet. I've been busy with my own little projects. I installed an MSD Street Fire ignition, painted my battery tray, and the top of my battery. I also put the truck in its first show (non judged though). Tomorrow morning I'm installing a CRMB y-pipe, hope it goes smoothly. After that I'll get a wait4me tuned pcm.

Re: Random Chatter
Let me know how the tune works out. I've been thinking about that for awhile just got so much other stuff going on. I got the oil changed and tires rotated. Im shopping around for tires. Don't like how it feels with this combo.

Mine only lasted about 3 days, then left me stranded. Stay away from Airtex Pumps, use only AC-Delco Delphi Pumps. Try RockAuto.com
