Fujimi's Impreza WRX STi with Photo-Etch

Started this kit not too long ago, it is the Fujimi kit with photo-etch included:

IMO, this is quite a detailed kit compare to older fujimi kit like those hondas & mitsubishi..

Here's the PE and metal transfer, i've seen the KA Models PE set and I can confirm it is the same, Fujimi bought the right from KA Models i think.

really love the metal transfers

also quite nice details on the under chassis

But the stock car had small wheels and a really high ride-height, and the wheel arch doesn't allowed much allowance for the chassis to be lowered and a 19" wheel...

So I have to modified the wheel arch so that i can replace a bigger wheel and lowered it a bit

I chop off the wheel arch and extended 1.5mm, didn't did a clean job and end up doing lots of sanding

Here's a comparison, though not much, but better than the stock one

I also scratched a new front lip to make it look more lowered

seems like i sanded too much, might need to putty & reshape a bit at the end

I agree, Lip turned out great and adds a lot to the overall appearance of the car. Fujimi seems to have stepped up their game.

Good job so far

Thats a first for me seeing metal transfers in a fujimi kit. It looks so good with you lowering it. Keep us updated.

The lip and height may not be big changes, but they completely transform the attitude of the car.

Re: Fujimi's Impreza WRX STi with Photo-Etch

Looks like this will be a good build. Nice clean looking kit too. I have a number of Fujimi kits and they can be quite good. The level of detail on a couple of them is actually quite impressive.

Nice work on the lowering and new lip. I might have to 'borrow' your idea for a build of mine

Re: Fujimi's Impreza WRX STi with Photo-Etch

thanks for the comment

ok, some updates:

scratch built the side sill as well, now it still look a bit thick, still need some sanding

doesn't look too bad

the rear spoiler doesn't fit nicely and there's visible gap between, as you can see i have already fill the gap with polyester putty

most of the panel line have been rescribe

drill out hole on the left & right vent at the bumper

and also the door side compartment, plan to put something there :P

and i drill some holes for the button, trying some technique to make the button to be painted more accurate

Your attention to the detail is amazing. I like your progress so far! I think you are right, KA supplies P/E as OEM for Fujimi as well as Hasegawa!
