1/8 Pocher Porsche 993 Carrera (56K warning: big pics!)

Here is a model I built during my junior year at UT. This is probably Pocher's easiest and least detailed kit, and after building two Ferraris, a Globetrotter and a Mercedes 540K Roadster, was a walk in the park, even after adding a lot of extras. I don't see too many 1/8 scale cars here, probably because of their rarity, maybe because I'm a newbee posting this in the wrong forum, but I love em so, if people are interested, I'll post other pictures of models in my collection.

The stock engine is little more than a plastic blob. I added all the wiring, drilled all the holes, etc. Keep in mind I was like 19 when I built this, so the workmanship is not up to my current, slighltly superior standard.

I've always liked two tone interiors, so I painted the upper parts of the dash and doors in black.

Just to show you how big these things are, the one on the left is in 1/18 scale, the one on the right in 1/43

Close up of the wheel/disk break. I'm going to replace the disks with photoetched ones at some point, hence I didn't bother to cross drill them.

My two other Ferraris...

Did you paint this silver or were you lucky enought to get one of the rare silver versions from Pocher?

I love Pocher cars, I have built many of them but alas they are all back in England.

Nice job..

I was lucky enough to get one of the silver ones, and get this, I bought it in Germany when the Euro was like .84 to the Dollar. I got it for something like $200! Ah, I miss those days!

I bought two red coupes as well, both assembled, one in awesome condition, the other a beater. I'm planning on dissassembling all the Ferrari's and fitting them with leather interiors and photoetched parts. I want to strip the beater and paint it something different, like a dark blue with cream and black interior. Too many projects and no time!
