replica of my own car! VW inside!!

well, i wanted to make a replica of my golf since a long time so here it is!

the car is a 1993, mk3 golf 2 doors with a couple of goodies...

here's some pics for reference

and now, the work!

i bought this kit

but the problem is.... it's a 4 doors

so time to take the dremel out!

original body

the red lines shows where i have to cut

once it's done

some putty work. i shaved the line all around on the bumpers and the door mouldings since i don't have it on mine. it's plain

and i bought that kit too for the wheels since it's the closer i can get that look like the ats cups i have!

merc rims and original rims with the golf kit

and that's it for now! the kit is now drying. i will start to sand it tonight!

thanks for watching!

Re: replica of my own car! VW inside!!

Cool stuff, i always like seeing v-dubs as im an owner myself. I also have a 4 to 2 door conversion with the r32. Good luck on the build, one thing that you can benefit from is sanding down the back of the rear lights (glueing pin). Makes them look a lot better, instead you see a big slot on the taillights. Keep us posted.

Re: replica of my own car! VW inside!!

sweet VW, I have a couple of those models, one I'm gonna keep 4 door, and the other is going to be a 2 door.

Nice work so far, couldn't find any Cups in 1/24 scale? Coulda sworn I saw some a while back, but oh well.

Very clean mk3 btw, someday I'll find a good 4 door around here.

The rear of the front door, goes reversed from the way it's facing now. If that makes any sense.

Very cool! Good luck with this project. I'd love to do a replica of my car, but there aren't any kits of it...
