Porsche 356A -RAUFBOLD-

Just started my last project. Something really different now………
Inspired by some really outstanding, unique and breathtaking customized historic cars (especially Porsches….;-) I decided to do my own one!
There are a lot of “hot-rod-outlaw-customized-walker-bandit-customized”-Porsches and due to the fact that the 356 A-type is one of my all-time-favorite-classic-cars that was the combination I’ve chosen.

I’ve decided to call my Porsche RAUFBOLD, an (even older) german word for

“rough neck” / ruffian or “fire-eater” (a boy / young man who wants to bicker with others).
The “old” Fujimi 356-Porsche-kits are awesome!!! The perfect base for my project. First of all I wanted to create some unique and cool wheels / rims. After thinking quite a while I made a hybrid out of the superb / fine casted Fujimi-rims by cutting out the inner circle and turned metal parts from scaleproduction. Then the stretch-wall-tyres from the range of Mike’s articles and the wheels appearance is quite satisfying.

The side windows were closed with sheet styrene, all holes of the body work were closed and the decorative strips under the doors were removed. My Raufbold will “grow” idea by idea, a lot of crazy thoughts are still running through my brain.
The seats will become a totally worn out look therefore I “reworked” them…;-)

That’s it for now, thanks for looking!

good fight - good night

yours
jochen

Re: Porsche 356A -RAUFBOLD-

Oh dear, i had to dig pretty deep in this sub-forum to find an old BUT still alive-project of mine.....;-)
I decided to work at my RAUFBOLD again, parking the Hiro-Alfa 33 somewhere else at the moment.
The interior is almost done, some worn-out texture in combination with steel from the chassis. Special care was taken depending the steering-wheel, thanks to gios perfect etch-set!!!!
The inner door-handles were replaced by own ones......red belt webbing bolted to the cover panel (thats how i would have done it in real life..........;-)
The instruments were "covered" by Mikezibit's instrument rings, a fine and cool feature.

The rims recieved a very decent and light wash to obtain more depth and the exhaust pipe was made of plastic tube (maybe to be replaced).

Now it's about time to start the body.

All the best
good fight-good night

Re: Porsche 356A -RAUFBOLD-

RAUFBOLD sounds like an obscure Porsche tuning haus.

Awesome- an asshole styled 356! I love it (and hate it!)! This will be much fun.

The stretchwalls are just the right kind of wrong, they look fantastic. Very nice work on the interior.

Looking for ideas and inspirations? Too bad. Personally, I think it needs a great big Whaletail engine lid. On a 356, I think it strikes a good balance of honoring and disrespecting Porsche history.

Looking forward to watching it come along!
