Anybody trailering with an 08 Escape?
Hi,
I was considering upgrading from an 99 Blazer to an 08 Escape 4WD 6 cyl, but then saw that the hitch rates on the Escape are terrible compared to my old Blazer. Anybody have any experience? (Trailering a 17' boat in and out of the water, and some over the road trailering.) Thanks

Re: Anybody trailering with an 08 Escape?
You didn't say what engine. The 2.3 L 4cyl is rated at 1,500 lbs, and the 3.0 L 6cyl is rated at 3,500 lbs. I have an '02 with 6cyl and 4wd with factory tow package and wilderness roof rack that has the same ratings listed in the owners manual as the '08. I pull a 2,500 lb large pop-up camper crammed full, along with that large roof rack packed, that we have taken on many 2,000 mile summer trips each summer. The only problems I've heard for towing are when the Escape itself is being towed by another large camper. I wouldn't pull anything bigger than a small trailer for riding lawn mowers if you get the 2.3 L 4cyl engine.

Thanks for the reply, I'll edit the original post to add the engine size.
