96 JGC help

ok first off id like to say im new here and was reading around to see if i could find out what was wrong with my jeep but havent found out yet anyways. i have a 1996 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 4x4 well sometime i have a hard time starting my jeep you can roll it over but it wont start and you have to hit the gas for it to start and then when it starts you have to keep your foot on the gas or it dies out meaning it wont idel on its own. so i put a tune up on it like new cap rotor plugs and wires and it still does it some time. the check engine light isnt on so i dont know whats wrong with it anyhelp would be nice

Re: 96 JGC help

it sounds like its the air idle control valve on the throttle body. pop it off and clean it and see how that works for you.

Re: 96 JGC help

it would also be a good idea to clean the throttle body if its never been done they can become so gummed up that the iac motor simply doesnt have enough range to compensate for the coked up throttle body
