fuel pump????
I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma that has been acting like it was going to die on ocassion when I was stopped at a red light. It has never actually died on me yet. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes I'm afraid I will not make it until the light changes.
Anyway, tonight I got in it to leave the house and it was barely running when I put it in drive and started up the road. It was shaking and acting like it wasn't getting enough gas to go down the road. I turned it around and headed back to the house. I finally made it back to my driveway and proceeded to sit there and give it time to warm up (it was a little cold tonight) it finally seemed to have calmed down a little bit as I was sitting there idling in park. As soon as I put it in reverse to leave the driveway it started acting up again and was shaking really bad and I could smell gas. Could this possibly be the fuel pump going out or something worse? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Re: fuel pump????
You could have a plugged fuel filter. Auto Zone,Advanced,O'Riley's and Pep Boys have loaner tools.
http://www.autopart.com/tools/toolsmain/tool/T_3300.htm Also search 3420 and 3425. Any this is the type of loaner tool you need. You can have a bad pump or pressure regulator. |
