I have a C5 and want to gut my factory catalytic converters has anyone done this I did it to all three of my C4's and Loved the way it Sounded but I'm worried that the C5 might cackle or pop on deceleration just wondering if anyone has actually Gutted their factory catalytic converter Thanks

Do not do this.
Your car uses an OBDII (on board diagnostics system II) electronic control system. It monitors the effectiveness of the converter. You will get a 'check engine' light if you do this to the cat. Gutting the converter will not increase performance. If you want to change the sound, try a different muffler or cat-back exhaust system. You were able to do this on your C4's because all (except for '95 and '96) used the OBD I system which did not monitor cat converter effectiveness. |
